     On the island there are a few areas where produce tea. The main ones are: Nuvara Eliya, Dimbula, Haputale, Uva, Kandy and Ruhuna.
     Each area is different altitudes, the soil composition, the average daily air temperature and humidity. Therefore tea grown in each region has its own characteristic flavors, fragrance, strength and color of the infusion.
 
Nuvara Eliya - high plateau that lies between the regions of Uva and Dimbula, at an altitude of 6000 feet above sea level. Plantation Nuvara Eliya - the highest areas, where tea is grown (Nuvara Eliya means "above the clouds"). There are growing eco-friendly teas of the highest category, which is particularly appreciated in Japan and Europe.
